Educated Feet "Swing Plus" Dance

On December 11 there will be an Foxtrot workshop/mixer from 7:30-8:15 pm free with admission to the dance!

DJ'd swing, salsa, hustle, blues, WCS, ballroom and Latin!  Some snacks provided; bring to share if you'd like.

All dances are open to the public.  Singles and couples and all ages and skill levels are welcome. Most people wear what you might call "dressy casual."  Please, no smoking and no alcohol.

Educated Feet

Bainbridge Island-based class and private dance instruction by Sheila Phillips, a certified instructor in ballroom, Latin and swing dancing.  Educated Feet holds regular dances on Bainbridge Island including their Second Saturday dance with a wide variety of dance music and their Latin Night dances oriented to salsa, meringue, tango, etc.

May OPD Dance With The Blues Counselors

The Blues Counselors will give dancers and listeners a tasty mix of lively blues and R&B on Saturday, May 8 at the Port Townsend Elks.  The dance, presented by Olympic Peninsula Dance and open to all, has "Hot Swing" as its theme.  Dancers are encouraged to dress for the occasion.

January OPD Dance With Jim Nyby & The F St. Band

The sounds of rhythm 'n blues will inspire swing dancers Saturday, January 16 at the Port Townsend Elks Lodge with a performance by Port Townsend's own Jim Nyby & The F Street Band.   The dance, which is open to all, is sponsored by Olympic Peninsula Dance.

There will be a free (with admission) dance lesson at 7:00 p.m. in "West Coast Swing" with Josh Lee and Teya Gabriel.  Experienced dancers are encouraged to come help beginners. No partner or registration is necessary.

An End-of-Summer Downtown Dance with The Delta Rays

Port Townsend's longest running local band kicks off the new dance season Saturday, September 19 at the American Legion, sponsored by Olympic Peninsula Dance.  The Delta Rays originated in 1989 and are known for playing blues-flavored rock and roll, zydeco, cajun and swing music. They regularly perform their wide variety of musical styles at popular Northwest taverns and clubs, as well as at regional festivals.

The band emphasizes a highly danceable play list, including original music from violin player Peter Evasick and keyboard/accordionist George Radebaugh.  Although the Delta Rays are well-known to Port Townsend fans, this is the first time they have played for Olympic Peninsula Dance.
