Red-hot blues and swing dancing come to the Port Townsend Elks on Friday, November 19 from 8 to 11 p.m. with a visit from the Seattle powerhouse band, Stickshift Annie with Kimball and the Fugitives.  The dance, which is open to all, is sponsored by Olympic Penninsula Dance.

Floating Otis will play for a KPTZ benefit on Friday Oct. 24th, 7:00, at the American Legion. We will play covers of rock and roll that people will love - bands like the Buffalo Springfield, the Temptations, the Pretenders, the Stones, the Beatles, Blind Faith, the Byrds, Credence, Martha Reeves, the Yardbirds, Van Morrison, Talking Heads, Cream, etc.

The Northwest Big Band Workshop will be gathering in Port Townsend April 27th – May 3rd.

Two complete Big Bands will culminate the week with a concert of Big Band Music of the ‘30s, ‘40s and ‘50s at the American Legion Hall, 209 Monroe Street, Port Townsend, Friday, May 2nd at 7:30 p.m. Dancing is encouraged!

Suggested donation is $5 a person, with proceeds benefiting the Jefferson County Winter Homeless Shelter.

A cadre of dance teachers will continue ballroom lessons this season. They are: Carol Hathaway, Michael Clemens, Darlene Clemens and Steve Johnson. Derek and Pam (teachers emeritus) will be “sometimes available” – at their convenience” – to teach both the teachers and the students. If possible, we will also include guest teachers.
